Rachel Severson

Architectural Intern

Rachel is currently a student at the University of Oregon studying for a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a minor in German. During her time at the School of Architecture and Environment at the University of Oregon, Rachel developed an interest in high density housing and public projects, while also considering cost effective ways to achieve high building standards. She’s also interested in urban design and planning. Rachel earned Dean’s List recognition and passed multiple studios with commendations. Rachel has an aptitude for technology and is proficient in several programs including Revit, AutoCAD, and multiple Adobe products.

Coming from an Air Force family, Rachel has grown up around Air Force installations and even went to high school on the United States Air Force Academy Base. Having an understanding of how the military operates from her parents, who are both veterans, has helped Rachel succeed architecturally as she pursues a career working on projects for the federal government.

Having spent a year abroad in Germany in high school, Rachel has a deeper understanding of multiple cultures and how architecture differs from culture to culture. Rachel is also fluent in German and hopes to expand her cultural knowledge by working on projects in other countries.  In addition to traveling and learning more about different cultures, Rachel enjoys painting, spending time with her cat, and hiking in her free time.
