Karen is currently pursuing her Master of Architecture at the University of Oregon with a focus on building science technology and housing. She is interested in whole system, ecosystem design to create healthy and sustainable environments for people. Her coursework at UO has piqued a new interest in mass timber and alternative construction materials which she hopes to continue exploring through her future studies.
Karen holds a B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed a two-year interior design program at University of California in Los Angeles.
A recent Eugene transplant, Karen is taking full advantage of the easy access to nature and has started mushroom foraging and preservation as her new hobby.
