He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. Before transitioning to urban planning, John owned and operated a successful landscape construction company in Eugene, Oregon, where he gained hands-on experience in horticulture and sustainable design. His horticultural expertise is further supported by the University of Arizona’s Master Gardener Program and additional coursework at Mount Hood Community College and the University of Oregon.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, John served with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron Two in Rota, Spain, where he supported reconnaissance and surveillance missions. His military background has honed his leadership skills and his ability to thrive in high-pressure, team-oriented environments.
