Landscape Architect + Associate Planner

Don Rickman, a Registered Landscape Architect, Certified Planner, and LEED Accredited Professional in Neighborhood Design, focuses on resiliency and sustainability within the built environment. His expertise spans from implementing best management practices in low-impact development for stormwater infiltration, treatment, and catchment to contributing to large-scale urban design projects. Don is passionate about creating sustainable environments that can be enjoyed for generations.

A 2014 graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Public Policy, Planning, and Management, Don also holds a drafting certificate from Lane Community College, earned in 2009. His technical proficiency includes computer-aided design programs, geospatial information systems data, and master plan renderings, which he employs to deliver high-quality, impactful designs.

Since joining The Urban Collaborative in 2014, Don has been a valuable contributor, applying his skills to advance the firm’s mission and projects. He achieved his AICP certification and Landscape Architecture license in 2024, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
