Dr. Sarasmita is an assistant planner at The Urban Collaborative. With her background in research, planning, and design, she has provided technical and writing support for various federal, local, and international projects since she joined The Urban Collaborative in 2019. She has notable experience in form-based code planning which includes developing street and building standards. In addition to her professional practice with The Urban Collaborative, Dr. Sarasmita is actively engaged with the academic side of the built environments, serving as an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington College of Built Environment. Adnya has taught a wide range of courses, including architectural design and representation studio, urban design studios, and lecture courses in the built environment and cities, health, and well-being. She is also part of the organizing team for the International Association for the Study of Traditional Environments’ Biennial Conferences.
Dr. Sarasmita holds a PhD in Built Environment from the University of Washington, a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universities Brawijaya in Indonesia.
