North Fort Hood Area Development Plan, Fort Hood

The primary goal for the plan of North Fort Hood is to provide as much expansion as possible for training, mission and housing. This is accomplished by expanding the district area to incorporate the street infrastructure in place to the south of the existing development, focusing on walkability and connected neighborhoods. The design also improves vehicular circulation throughout the site and adds an underpass across Texas Highway 36 (TX-36) to mitigate safety concerns. Among the requirements included are hangars and a battalion ORTC set by the air strips, a DOL complex to the north of the district, a Battle Command Training Center, brigade-sized operational facilities, and housing and community support.
